Palace view the young full-back as the ideal replacement for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who completed a move to Manchester United. The Seagulls will have to be fast as Graham Potter’s former club Swansea, Everton and Burnley are all keen on James.

Everton are doing all they can to tempt Barcelona’s Malcolm away from Arsenal. The 23-year-old Brazilian forward is expected to leave Barcelona, a year after arriving.

Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko interests Arsenal, Man United and Paris Saint-Germain. The £40m France international was sent to AC Milan on loan by Maurizio Sarri last season. Midfield is an area Manchester United are keen to boost as they are also in the running for Southampton’s Mario Lemina. Once again they face competition from their Europa League rivals Arsenal for the 25-year-old midfielder.

West Ham are planning to sneak ahead of Valencia and pay Maxi Gomez’s £43.5m release clause and sign the 22-year-old Celta Vigo striker. While Aston Villa hope to land Burnley’s Tom Heaton having made an initial bid of £7m. Burnley meanwhile are also in the market for a new striker and could opt for their former front runner Jay Rodriguez from West Brom.

Bayern Munich haven’t given up on Leroy Sane. The German giants expect the left sided attacker to decide by next week if he plans to stay with the Premier League champions or not.

Finally, the odds on John Terry becoming the next manager of Newcastle United have tumbled. Although Mikel Arteta, currently serving under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City remains favourite.
