Brighton and Hove Albion battle Crystal Palace for £8.5m-rated striker as Seagulls slap £43m price tag on star man

The bookmakers have weighed in on Ben White’s future at Brighton and Hove Albion.

As per SkyBet, Leeds United are currently second in the running to land the Seagulls defender with a price of 4/1.

Manchester United lead the race at 3/1, while Liverpool have odds of 9/1.

White spent a hugely successful spell on loan at Marcelo Bielsa’s side in 2019/20, playing 49 times and helping them to secure a long-awaited promotion back to the Premier League.

Last summer, the Seagulls rejected three bids from Leeds and White has since drawn interest from the so-called ‘big six’.

According to Cadena SER reporter Jose David Lopez, Man United will consider a move for White if they fail to land Sevilla defender Jules Kounde.

Indeed, Kounde’s reported £68million asking price could price Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men out of a move and into the direction of White.

However, it is claimed Albion will demand around £43m for the 23-year-old, who has impressed during his debut top-flight season.
