Whites fans are reacting to the news that Leeds have seen two big-money bids for Ben White rejected by Brighton including an improved offer of £22m, according to Sky Sports.

Leeds’ efforts have reportedly proven unsuccessful with an initial £18.5m bid for their former Brighton loanee defender with an improved £22m bid also rejected.

Supporters are desperate for the 22-year-old centre back to return to Elland Road after a stunning season at the heart of Marcelo Bielsa’s Championship-winning defence, but Seagulls supporters would like to see the starlet stay.

Here’s what Leeds United and Brighton fans are saying about White and the hashtag.

@ibbobfcryan: “Only Leeds fans could get something like #FreeBenWhite trending on twitter. Mad.”

@richardlang05: “Absolutely, the least they could do would be to #FreeBenWhite.”

@MacsDickinson: “Some people will say #LUFC fans get carried away on twitter. Others will say #FreeBenWhite”

@AaacccccCcc: “The biggest sign Ben White wants to come to Leeds is that Leeds are bidding. Bielsa only wants players that want to play for us. If White had said he was staying at Brighton we wouldn’t be bidding #LUFC #freebenwhite"

@Chris_CD2010: “Last offer of £22m rejected. Ben has turned down two improved contract offers. I guess we now wait for him to hand in a transfer request. That will change things. #LUFC #FreeBenWhite”

@davejohnsoniow: “Come home lad, Leeds have made you, Leeds will play you. Your name is White, you were meant to play for LUFC. Do the right thing and take the money Brighton. #FreeBenWhite.”

@wearebrighton: "Ben White could turn down 100 new contract offers from Brighton & it doesn't change the fact that he is a #BHAFC player until his contract expires

The only way he is going anywhere is if Leeds, Liverpool or whoever else pay Tony Bloom's asking price.

“If White hands in a transfer request or goes on strike, he will learn quickly why Bloom has made millions playing poker. Bloom doesn't suffer fools lightly & can hold a grudge for an unhealthy amount of time (ask Gus). Two years in the reserves won't do White's career much good.”
