It was a perfect night for Graham Potter's side, who dominated throughout.
Leandro Trossard opened the scoring on the stroke of half-time with a superb curling effort to follow up his match-winner against Southampton last weekend.
Ryan Fraser hit the post as the visitors started the second-half on the front foot but Danny Welbeck' s stunning strike - his third goal of the season - put Albion firmly in control.
Newcastle never looked like getting back into the game and Neal Maupay made sure of that when he finished off a slick team move, with a fine volley, for his first goal in ten games.

5. Joel Veltman - 7
Sat in comfortably in a back three which was rarely troubled. As Brighton dominated, he mostly resisted the temptation to join the attacking effort, but did play the pass to Trossard before his sublime opener
6. Pascal Gross - 8
Deployed in right wing-back, where he played in the second-half against Southampton. The German still looked a danger going forward and played in a few great crosses, including one that set up Neal Maupay after a lovely Cruyff turn.
7. Yves Bissouma - 8
A key part of a midfield which dominated possession throughout the ball, pressing with intensity and not letting Newcastle counter Excellently timed challenge to stop Shelvey early on, as he was making good progress through the middle. Looked visibly upset after the accidental collision with Isaac Hayden, who was stretchered off.
8. Adam Lallana - 8
He may not take the headlines but Lallana was a class act once again in the middle of the park. He barely put a foot wrong.
