Brighton transfer deadline day LIVE: Moises Caicedo deal, Glenn Murray and Alireza Jahanbakhsh update
It’s deadline day in the January transfer window - and it promises to be a busy one across the Premier League and EFL.
Brighton and Hove Albion were boosted by their excellent 1-0 victory against Jose Mourinho's Tottenham last night but will they be adding to their squad on transfer deadline day.
Fans are still eagerly awaiting confirmation for Ecuador international midfielder Moises Caicedo. Brighton are said to have agreed a £4.5m fee with his club Independiente del Valle for the 19-year-old but as yet the transfer has not been officially announced.
Glenn Murray looks set to end his association with Brighton and agree to join Championship strugglers Nottingham Forest where he will reunite with former Albion boss Chris Hughton.
There could also be some movement with striker Alireza Jahanbakhsh. The Iranian international has struggled for game time this season and may seal a loan move away before the deadline.
Clubs have until 11pm to finalise any last-minute deals - including both incomings and outgoings.

What’s happening at Brighton?
Brighton will hope to conclude their £4.5m deal with Independiente del Valle for Ecuador international midfielder Moises Caicedo. Caicedo, 19, is one of South America's most promising young talents and was previously linked with a move to Premier League giants Manchester United and also West Ham. Caicedo arrived for a medical last week and was expected to complete formalities but as yet confirmation of his transfer has not been announced. Fans are becoming increasingly concerned by the delay and will hope the deal goes through without a hitch on deadline day.
Brighton striker Glenn Murray is finalising a deal to join Championship outfit Nottingham Forest and reunite with his former Albion boss Chris Hughton. Murray joined Hornets on a season-long loan deal last summer but struggled for game time. His loan was terminated by Watford and the 37-year-old striker had been training alone while searching for a new club. Murray made 285 appearances for Albion and scored 111 goals. His best season was in 2016-17, under Hughton, as he netted 23 goals in the Championship as the Seagulls gained promotion to the Premier League.
Alireza Jahanbakhsh could be the next high-profile player to leave on deadline day. Jahanbakhsh has struggled for game time this season under Graham Potter and the 27-year-old was quoted recently as saying he is at a point in his career he has to "play a lot more and have better conditions." The Iranian international signed from AZ Alkmaar in 2018 for a then club-record fee of £17m but has since endured a frustrating time in the Premier League on the south coast. Jahanbakhsh has been linked with a loan move to Holland or the Championship. Whether a deal will be finalised today remains to be seen.
