Brighton transfer news: Albion player in frame for summer exit, Seagulls plot raid for teen sensation

Brighton’s 1-0 defeat to Sheffield United on Saturday evening leaves them in a more precarious position than they would have liked at this stage of the season.

The Seagulls are still seven points clear of the bottom three with five games left to play, but have tricky clashes against the likes of Leeds United, Manchester City, West Ham, and Arsenal still to come, and will be anxiously keeping an eye on struggling Fulham and their bid to drag themselves out of danger.

Albion will be fully aware of how much of an opportunity Saturday’s clash against the Blades was – a point emphasised by captain Lewis Dunk.

Speaking after the defeat, he said: “It was a missed opportunity at Sheffield United to put some distance between us and the bottom three. We have got to give some credit to them, they didn't concede and were difficult to breakdown.

“We conceded a poor goal in the first half which is difficult to come back from against a team who will sit in and make it hard for you. It proved too much in the end

“We dominated possession, we created a few chances, but we didn't put them in the back of the net, it's a loss we need to move on from.

“We have got five games now that we need to make the most of to secure our Premier League status for next season.”
