Brighton transfer news: Arsenal named favourites to land Seagulls star, Wolves man could rejoin former side

Brighton & Hove Albion moved another step closer to safety on Tuesday night, when they picked up a point in a goalless draw with Chelsea - a game overshadowed by the European Super League drama unfolding off the field which saw the competition fold less then 48 hours after it was announced.

The result leaves the Seagulls a solid seven points clear of the relegation zone in 16th place, and they also have the luxury of a game in hand over 18th place Fulham.

Speaking after the game, Brighton boss Graham Potter revealed his annoyance with defender Ben White for his late sending off, after picking up a second yellow card. The Seagulls boss said: “I did not clearly see the first yellow. Then (the second yellow) we are caught up the pitch with a turn over.

“I think it was a one v. one situation and he makes a challenge and I think it is a yellow card. So we will have to adapt and deal with that.”

Next up, Brighton return to top-tier action this weekend, when they travel to take on already-relegated Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on Saturday night.

Here are today's biggest transfer stories and the latest team news involving Brighton & Hove Albion and the rest of the Premier League, as the reaction to the midweek action continues:
