Brighton transfer news: Seagulls to rival Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund and Club Brugge for highly-rated starlet

Brighton are set to welcome Crystal Palace in their next Premier League fixture...

But on-pitch matters haven’t stopped transfer talk swirling around the top-flight and beyond.

Graham Potter has explained the club’s decision to sign veteran campaigners Adam Lallana and Danny Welbeck on free transfers over the summer.

Potter gave an extended interview with talkSPORT on Monday afternoon, during which former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan was eager to discuss the arrivals of the experienced pair at the Amex.

“In the previous transfer window, we bought the likes of Alexis Mac Allister, Tariq Lamptey,” Potter said. “Young players that are at the start of their careers, and who are relatively unproven at Premier League level.”

Former Leeds United goalkeeper Paul Robinson believes Leeds are in a race with Liverpool and Tottenham to sign Brighton centre-back Ben White.

White spent last season on loan at Elland Road and cemented himself as a fan favourite as the Whites were promoted to from the Championship.

“A lot of clubs will be looking to sign an elite level centre-back in the summer," Robinson said. “I expect Ben White to be in demand from Leeds, Liverpool and Tottenham at the end of the season.

“You can see how hard that market is when you look at Liverpool’s business in January. They waited until the end of the window and they got two players who they probably did not initially want to sign."
