Watford enjoyed a resurgence under their new manager Nigel Pearson, winning four of his first seven and losing just once.

But defeats to Everton and Aston Villa proved costly and they arrive second from bottom and two points off safety.

Trossard said, “It’s a massive game and we want to keep the three points at home. It is so important to pick up points.

“This is what we live for, these games and it gets the adrenaline out of you. I cannot wait to play the game.

“The confidence took a knock after Bournemouth but we reacted well. We just need to have the confidence to play like we did and take that to Saturday. Everyone was happy (after West Ham) because of the fighting spirit we have.

“At 2-0 down it was not nice to go in the dressing room but we reacted well and could have won. It is a big one for us to take on to the next one.”

The Belgian winger also had words of praise for veteran striker Murray who last agreed an 18-month contract scored the equaliser at West Ham.

“Glenn played a really good game. It is nice to play with Glenn he can hold the ball for you and you can link up with him really well.

“I’m glad he scored his first goal (Premier League goal of the season) an hopefully there will be many more to come.”

The Seagulls would love a repeat of the scoreline when they met on the opening day of the season.

That day, Albion won 3-0 at Vicarage Road thanks to goals from Florin Andone, Neal Maupay and Abdoulaye Doucoure’s own goal.

Shane Duffy will hope to be available. The defender missed the West Ham match after having a blood clot removed from his leg. Dan Burn is expected to miss out with a shoulder problem while Solly March is pushing for a starting role after impressing from the bench against the Hammers.

The visitors have suffered from a number of injuries this season but Ismaila Sarr, Tom Cleverley and Nathaniel Chalobah could return.
