Veteran striker Glenn Murray has started the previous two Premier League matches against West Ham and Watford.

Murray, 36, offers a different option and his experience could be vital as Albion fight to maintain their Premier League status with 12 matches remaining.

Graham Potter had previously favoured youthful mobility and Neal Maupay was the main striker for the the majority of season and is Albion's leading scorer with seven this campaign.

The goals however dried up for the Frenchman and he has not scored since the 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace on December 16.

The bustling presence of Aaron Connolly, 19, has been the other main threat for Brighton. The young Irishman impressed in the first part of the season and bagged two excellent goals on his first league start in the 3-0 win against Spurs way back in October.

Connolly's performances have been encouraging since then. He has proved a handful for Premier League defenders but that brace remain his only two goals of the season.

Potter has been impressed with Maupay's and Connolly's recent displays in training but Murray seems to be in pole-position to start at Bramall Lane.

"I think it would make sense to use him (Murray)," Potter said. "Certainly at this point in time. He has been here before. He gives us different attributes but at the same time I have seen a really positive reaction from Arron Connolly and I've seen a really positive reaction from Neal Maupay.

"I think they will all contribute between now and the end of the season. It is not just about one guy, It is about the team and finding solutions collectively."
