Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel not looking forward to next meeting with 'very underrated' Brighton
Thomas Tuchel has said Brighton are a 'very underrated team' and 'deserve a lot more points than they have this season'.
The Chelsea manager's comments came after his Champions League-chasing side were held to a 0-0 draw by Albion at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday evening. See how Brighton's players rated hereIt's a point which pushes the Seagulls closer to Premier League safety but will perhaps be overshadowed by the news that six Premier League teams, who had signed up to a European Super League, have now withdrawn.
When asked if he was pleased that Chelsea would still be able to play against top-flight teams like Brighton in the future, Tuchel said: "If we cannot win, I'm not so pleased to against them.
"They were very strong. I know they are a very underrated team. They deserve a lot more points than they have."
Tuchel said Albion have 'a lot of individual quality' and made it difficult for the hosts to create chances.
"They defended very, very strong," he said. "Almost man marking across the whole pitch.
"That created a lot of problems for us and we could not find the answers to it.
"We were not good enough in counter movements, not precise enough in one touch football and not precise enough after ball losses. We did not create too many moments in counter pressing.
"That's why it was a tough match. We are tired mentally and psychically. We could not find the rhythm which we normally play and it was a credit for Brighton.
"We had two or three big mistakes and we could have lost the game. We have to accept it and keep on going."
