Disappointed Graham Potter pinpoints why Brighton may have 'switched off' against Leicester

Albion were dealt a cruel blow when Kelechi Iheanacho headed in Youri Tielemans' cross, with just seconds remaining, to send Leicester through to the quarter-finals.

Potter said it was a tough one to take after his side's solid performance, which looked set to take the game to extra-time.

"We are disappointed of course," he said. "We put such a lot into the game.

"There were tired minds on the pitch so we switched off a little bit. It was a quick corner and we weren't set properly.

"I'm still disappointed because I thought our performance was really good. We more than matched Leicester.

"Both sides would say there wasn't too much on either goal. It was a tight game. Both teams defended quite well.

"We had a couple of opportunities flash across the box but probably not enough in the final third to be really satisfied."

Potter said he was impressed by the performances of Polish debutants Michal Karbownik and Jakub Moder, who 'worked hard for the team' and 'combined quite well'.

He added: "They were two positives of the evening.

"Both of them affected the game. They haven't played for a while. They will get better and better. I'm delighted with them.

"There were a lot of young players out on the pitch, players who haven't played for a while, players making debuts.

"We did a lot of things well but it's hard to think about that because we are so disappointed to lose."
