Mark Lawrenson makes a worrying prediction for Brighton ahead of Liverpool

Brighton will welcome champions Liverpool on Wednesday night (8.15pm) in confident mood following their vital 1-0 win at Norwich last Saturday.

The three points gained at Carrow Road leaves them within touching distance of safety with five matches remaining.

Liverpool were crowned worthy Premier League winners but have since suffered a 4-0 loss against Manchester City. They responded with a 2-0 triumph against Villa and Jurgen Klopp insists they want to finish the season well, starting at Brighton tomorrow.

Albion are nine points above the drop zone and anything they can gain against Klopp's title winners will be a huge bonus for Potter's team. Lawro, who played for Brighton and Liverpool throughout his distinguished career, predicts a tough evening for the Seagulls.

Writing in his prediction column for the BBC, he said, "Liverpool were short of their best against Aston Villa on Sunday - I know Reds boss Jurgen Klopp made changes, but their passing wasn't great.

"It wasn't until Klopp made three changes on the hour mark that Liverpool started playing, and I'm sure Brighton - who are now absolutely safe from relegation by the way - will try to make things difficult again for them here.

"But the Reds always seem to win at Brighton - they have collected three points on each of their two visits here in the Premier League, so am going for another Liverpool win."

Lawro's prediction: 0-2

Lawro is up against DJ and Arsenal fan Joel Corry, who also predicts a win for the Reds. He wrote: "Liverpool have been absolutely brilliant but I still think they need to do more before they can compare with the great Arsenal teams under Arsene Wenger, like the double winners of 1998 or 'The Invincibles' of 2004.

"Klopp is my favourite manager at the moment, though. 0-2."
