Mark Lawrenson reveals Brighton & Hove Albion scoreline prediction ahead of Southampton clash
Brighton & Hove Albion are back in Premier League action tomorrow evening, when they take on Southampton at St. Mary's.
The Seagulls head into the game fresh off the back of a 5-0 shellacking at the hands of Manchester City, while the Saints scored a dramatic injury time equaliser to snatch a point against Manchester United last time out.
Writing for BBC Sport, pundit Mark Lawrenson has predicted a 2-0 win for Southampton in tomorrow's game.
Justifying his choice, Lawro claimed: "The four points that Brighton picked up against Arsenal and Leicester last month have been huge in terms of keeping them out of trouble, but they are not safe yet.
"The Seagulls are still looking over their shoulder, especially after losing their previous two games, and they will just be hoping that Bournemouth and Villa do not pick anything up in midweek to close the gap further before they play Saints.
"I still think Brighton will stay up, but that will be down to other teams' results rather than their own."
Meanwhile, Lawro's sparring partner for the midweek games, DJ and Aston Villa fan Nathan Dawe, predicted a 1-0 win for the Saints. He contended: "Brighton play Newcastle (h) and Burnley (a) after this game, so I think they will pick up enough points to get to safety, even if Saints nick it."
The last time the two sides met back in August, Southampton ran out 2-0 winners at the AMEX Stadium, as Florin Andone's first-half red card helped the Saints cruise to victory with goals from Moussa Djenepo and Nathan Redmond.
