'Set traps,' 'Tactically right' - The praise from pundits that Brighton fans will love after Leeds United win

BBC duo Ian Wright and Gary Linekar have showered Brighton & Hove Albion with praise following their win of Leeds United.

Neal Maupay scored the only goal of the game, capping an excellent team goal.

Brighton were without the Seagulls Tariq Lamptey, Aaron Connolly, Danny Welbeck, Adam Lallana, and Alireza Jahanbakhsh.

However, Alexis Mac Allister, Leandro Trossard, and Lewis Dunk all stepped up to the plate, something Wright mentioned on Match of the Day on Saturday night.

"[They were] excellent value for the win, especially when you consider the amount of players that are missing as well," said Wright.

"I thought the manager got his selection right."

Lineker interjected: "Tactically right too," to which Wright replied, "Absolutely."

But Wright was less complimentary about Leeds, who were not at their best, but part of that was down to Brighton containing them so well.

“Leeds were very disappointing from an offensive point of view, as their manager [Marcelo Bielsa] said," said Wright.

"Brighton closed Leeds down. They set the traps, Ben White had a fantastic game today, alongside [Joel] Veltman who was brilliant today, [Adam] Webster was brilliant today.

"They tried to attack the spaces left [by Leeds]. For the goal, it’s great play from Brighton, it’s a fantastic move."

Wright said the win was "very easy for Brighton" and the visitors "did their homework".

The result means Potter's men move up to 16th after Burnley's loss to West Ham.
