Spurs are on the lookout for a new permanent appointment after Jose Mourinho parted company with the club last month, and the Albion boss has emerged as a surprise candidate for the role, according to reports.

Despite Brighton spending much of the campaign in a relegation battle, Potter and his side have impressed with their forward-thinking, expressive brand of attacking play – and O’Hara believes that the 45-year-old could be the ideal man to turn things around in north London.

Speaking on talkSPORT, the Tottenham-supporting pundit said: “My wish list has actually changed.

"Before I was thinking, ‘Who do we go to from Jose Mourinho? We should be going for like an Antonio Conte or a Brendan Rodgers’, but I think we need to be realistic.

"We’re pretending we’re a big club and we’re not. We don’t win anything.

"We need to go and find someone a bit like Pochettino when he first came in.

"Genuinely, I’ve warmed to the idea – and the more I watch him the more I like him – of getting Graham Potter I think he would be good for the club.

"His philosophy is great. The way they create chances, the way they want to play.

"I would love someone like that to come in.”

Although ten points clear of danger with just three matches left to play, Brighton could still mathematically be relegated on account of Fulham having a game in hand.

If the Cottagers lose to Burnley on Monday evening, however, Albion’s survival will be assured.
