Newly-promoted West Brom and boss Slaven Bilic are keen to strengthen in defence ahead of the new Premier League campaign, with the Baggies said to be discussing a move for Duffy with the Seagulls.

According to Sky Sports, they are hopeful of completing a deal for the 28-year-old before the squad returns for pre-season training later this month.

Ex-Everton man Duffy – who has been linked with a reunion with David Moyes at West Ham – made 19 Premier League appearances for Brighton last season, but has slipped down the pecking order, with Lewis Dunk, Adam Webster, Joel Veltman and Ben White contending for places in Graham Potter’s starting XI.

The Seagulls are thought to value Duffy at somewhere around the £10 million mark.
