Brentford will remain without captain Pontus Jansson for the visit of Brighton on Friday.

The centre-back is still struggling with a hamstring injury and will stay on the sidelines with midfielder Christian Norgaard (Achilles).

Forward Keane Lewis-Potter is back to boost boss Thomas Frank after a spell out with a foot issue but back-up goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha recently sustained an ankle problem that will keep him out for a number of weeks.

Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi has no fresh injury concerns for the trip.

Enock Mwepu is unavailable for the Seagulls following his sudden retirement with a hereditary heart condition.

Jakub Moder remains sidelined as he recovers from a long-term knee injury.

Frank on De Zerbi

Frank admitted his analysis in preparation for the clash with Brighton has seen him focus on what new Seagulls manager Roberto De Zerbi did with Shakhtar Donetsk and Sassuolo.

Frank added: “They played two, both Liverpool and Tottenham. Obviously we looked at these two and then I am looking always more on the manager.

“I look more at Roberto and I think he did a very good job at Sassuolo, also at Shakhtar he did fine but it was the Sassuolo job that is the most impressive.

“Of course he inherited a good squad, a well-drilled team and now he needs to put his own ideas in.

“I think it is an interesting signing for the Premier League, very interesting but we know what Brighton will come with. They will try to dominate possession, be very flexible and we need to close that down.”

De Zerbi on Brentford

“If you are fighting in the Premier League, you have to know that all games can be very difficult and you have to be ready to fight every opponent.

“We can suffer against Brentford because they are a good team. But we can play our football and they can suffer as well with our skill, ability and style of play.

“The last result (against Tottenham) was not fair and now we have the possibility to win the next game.”
