Defender Lewis Dunk says Brighton & Hove Albion's players have to be prepared for a hostile environment when they travel to Millwall in the FA Cup on Sunday.

The Seagulls won 2-1 at arch rivals Crystal Palace in a red-hot atmosphere at Selhurst Park last week and Dunk expects more of the same at The Den.

He said: "They’re both places where you’re going to get stick.

“You ignore it when you’re playing as your focus is on the game.

“I don’t think it will be so personal at Millwall but you’ll still get stick, it’s part and parcel of football.

“You’ve got to thrive under the pressure which is put on top of you.

“If you crumble you’re going to lose and are not going to perform well.

“You have to thrive and we showed that at Palace.”

Dunk feels the Seagulls can do special things in the FA Cup this season as they bid to reach the semi-finals for just the second time in their history at Millwall on Sunday.

The Seagulls are five points above the Premier League relegation zone and Dunk says all of the club’s focus is now on the FA Cup as they do not play in the league again until the end of the month.

Dunk said: “We’ve got the FA Cup and then the international break before we prepare for the next Premier League game. Now our focus is on the FA Cup and we can do special things.

“If we can get to Wembley and a semi-final, you never know what can happens.

“It will depend on the draw but then we could go again and be in a final like we were once before.

“The semi-finals are our next aim and then we’ll see what happens.”
