The 26-year-old joined Albion from Wigan last summer, before spending the first half of the season back on loan with the Latics.

He was named man of the match as Brighton were held to a draw by Championship side West Brom and Burn was pleased with his performance.

He said: "Obviously I would love to have won but taking that away, it went really well.

"I've said before that I'm probably going to get limited opportunities here, definitely at the start anyway because we've got some very good centre halves that are going to be hard to push out of the way.

"But I enjoyed being out there and the draw has probably helped us a little bit because I might get another game up there.

"I enjoyed it out there and I thought West Brom were good value for the draw. They did really well and caught us on the counter a few times but I'm glad we could stand up to them and get the clean sheet."

Burn said the decision to join Brighton was something he could not turn down, even if he will have to bide his time to begin with.

He said: "I want to play football, you don't do it to sit on the bench. But it was opportunity I couldn't turn down.

"I wanted another crack at the Premier League. I had a few games at Fulham and it didn't work out but I wanted to have another go and I'll take every opportunity I can.

"I can only do what I can do and at the moment I've done myself no harm so I'll keep my head down, keep working hard and wait for my opportunity."
