The 34-year-old frontman netted 12 Premier League goals last season as the Seagulls finished 15th and he opened his account for the new campaign when Brighton beat Manchester United earlier this month.

Murray has scored 38 times for Albion since returning to the club from Bournemouth in July, 2016, and in total has 94 goals for the club in 224 matches.

He is 12 away from 200 career goals and will again lead the line when Fulham visit the Amex tomorrow.

Hughton praised Murray's desire at yesterday's press conference and said: "When a player gets older, you don't know how long they can keep that level of pace, that level of enthusiasm and that level of desire, it has to come from within.

"Glenn has a great desire to want to play and play for as long as possible and thankfully for us he has a great desire to score goals.

"That's why every player is different. One player at 32 perhaps might have come to the end of his career, another one and we have one in Bruno, who is 37 and is playing no different now to ten years ago."
