Seagulls defender Shane Duffy said it was gutting to lose last night's top-of-the-table clash with Newcastle late on.

Albion led through Glenn Murray's 14th-minute penalty but Newcastle took all three points through goals from Mohamed Diame and Ayoze Perez in the final nine minutes.

The win took Newcastle back above Brighton to the top of the Championship and Duffy tweeted this morning: "Gutted about last night tough one to take so late on, we go again Saturday. Stadium was rocking last night great support again. #seagulls."

Speaking after the game, Murray said: "Right now we're disappointed but by Thursday morning we'll be looking towards Nottingham Forest and Rotherham.

"It's just another fixture, it's another three points, that's all. It's just disappointing that it's to the team closest to us in the league but we'll bounce back and on Thursday morning we'll go again.

"We lost three points and we'll go out on Saturday to look to gain three points."
