Former Brighton & Hove Albion stars congratulate Lewis Dunk on England debut

A number of former Brighton stars congratulated Lewis Dunk after the defender made his England debut last night.

Dunk started the Three Lions' friendly with the United States at Wembley and several former Albion players praised the central defender on social media.

Steve Sidwell tweeted: "Delighted to see @lewisdunk get his debut tonight for @England fully deserved and I’ve no doubt it’ll be the first of many. Seen first hand what he can produce on and off the field....leader, captain and a top class talent. Well done Dunky and @OfficialBHAFC."

Uwe Hunemeier wrote on Twitter: "Played alongside him, have seen him improving tremendously over the time I was in Brighton and now he gets his 1st @england cap tonight!! Congrats @lewisdunk !! A great role model to all the young kids growing up and coming through the ranks!! #BHAFC."

Albion legend Bobby Zamora tweeted: "Good luck @England @lewisdunk and massive congratulations to @WayneRooney."

Former Brighton winger Elliott Bennett put on Twitter: "Unbelievable achievement for @lewisdunk delighted to see him make his @England debut tonight. All @OfficialBHAFC must be very proud. Withdean to Wembley."
