Brighton & Hove Albion produced a spirited performance as they lost 2-1 away to Manchester United in the Premier League this afternoon. Here's how we rated the players of both teams.

Goals from Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford put United 2-0 ahead at half-time but Pascal Gross made it 2-1 with 18 minutes to go. Despite late Albion pressure, the hosts held on to win.

Made his fourth successive Premier League start with Mathew Ryan at the Asian Cup. Excellent save to keep it at 1-0 when Martial broke through.
Kept Martial quiet for much of the first half but almost allowed the Frenchman in during the opening 45 minutes, however Button came to his rescue.
Dependable as ever at the back. Had a header easily saved from Gross corner early on.
Solid up against the pacy Rashford. Several interceptions and blocks as usual. Superb tackle to deny Martial at 2-0.
Made several bright runs forward as he looked to support Locadia. Gave away the penalty when Pogba went down under his challenge.
Had to work hard defensively up against Dalot and Martial down the right. Few opportunities to run at the United left-back. Subbed.
Swept up play in front of the back four. Won the ball back on several occasions.
Calm on the ball. Looked to drive Albion forward when they won the ball back. Outstanding cross with the outside of his right boot led to Gross making it 2-1.
A set-piece threat from free kicks and corners. Allowed Rashford to cut in too easily which led to United's second. Made it 2-1 with a clinical close-range finish on 71 minutes.
Seventh successive start for the Dutch forward. Deflected shot easily saved by De Gea early on. A threat down the left but didn't see enough of the ball.
Dragged one shot wide and sent a better opportunity off target at 1-0. Has now gone eight Premier League games without a goal. Subbed.
Replaced Murray on the hour. One looping header easily saved.
Sent on for March after 60 minutes. Lively down the right.
Came on for the final eight minutes.
No chance with Gross's goal. Had to be alert to punch clear late Knockaert free kick with Duffy lurking behind.
Looked to get forward from right-back whenever possible.
Headed wide from seven yards in the first half. Solid at the back against Murray. Sent a lovely ball over the top for Martial, who was denied by Button.
Solid display. Good battle at the back with Murray.
Replaced the ill Luke Shaw at left-back in the starting line-up shortly before kick-off. Set up Rashford for the second just before half-time.
Steady influence in front of the back four.
Energetic in the middle of the park. Ensured United kept hold of the ball well.
French World Cup winner has been in outstanding form in recent weeks and was a big influence on the game. Had a few efforts on goal before he got the opener from the penalty spot, after he was fouled by Bong.
Former Brighton loanee made clever runs and looked to link up play. Subbed.
Scored a superb goal when he cut inside Gross and curled a shot into the far top corner. Lively throughout. Has now been involved in 11 goals in his last ten Premier League games. Booked.
Really came to life at the start of the second half when he was denied by a last-ditch Dunk tackle and flashed a shot just wide. Denied by Button in the first half. Subbed.
Replaced Lingard 15 minutes from time.
Replaced Martial on 82 minutes.
Sent on in injury-time.
