Pascal Gross: Small margins were the difference against Manchester United and Liverpool
Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Pascal Gross felt the Seagulls were undone by small margins in their Premier League defeats to both Liverpool and Manchester United.
Mohamed Salah's penalty gave Liverpool a 1-0 victory at the Amex last week, before Albion lost 2-1 at Manchester United on Saturday.
Paul Pogba, from the penalty spot, and Marcus Rashford got United's goals, before Gross got a goal back in the second half.
It was the third successive Premier League game in which the midfielder had scored against United and afterwards he said: "I think we played some good games against Liverpool and United but they are behind us now.
"I think we were a little bit unfortunate in both and it was small margins which was the difference, nothing big.
"We now have big games coming up and we will keep working hard and stick together."
Gross was frustrated with aspects of the defeat at United and said: "At 2-1 in the last ten minutes, you never know what can happen.
"We came back into the game and at the end, you never know. The result is okay for them but we have to be better in some situations.
"Unfortunately in the first half we didn't defend well enough but in the second half we showed good character."
