Reaching the FA Cup final is Brighton star's motivation rather than stopping City's quadruple dream

Midfielder Dale Stephens says reaching the final of the FA Cup is the only motivation Brighton & Hove Albion players will need against Manchester City tomorrow.

The Seagulls take on a star-studded City side who are chasing an unprecedented quadruple.

Manchester City have already won the EFL Cup and are also in the hunt to win the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup.

Asked if Albion are looking to end City's hopes of winning all four trophies, Stephens said: "I don't think that is the driver for the weekend's game. The ultimate prize is getting to an FA Cup final regardless of anybody else's position or any achievements they aspire to.

"It's solely on what we want to achieve and that's getting to an FA Cup final."

Stephens added Albion have to grasp their opportunity on Saturday as they may not have another chance to reach an FA Cup final.

He said: "It's a one off chance. You don't really get these opportunities too often playing at Wembley in such an occasion as it is. You've got to grasp it as it doesn't come around often whatever age you may be.

"Young players in the squad might not get this opportunity again and the older ones like myself it might be a last chance. It's important you don't let it pass you by."
