Seagulls supporters are excited by new arrivals

Brighton and Hove Albion fans will head to the Amex tomorrow eager to catch a glimpse of the two new signings who performed so admirably in Tuesday's win at Leeds United.

João Teixeira, the recently-arrived season-long loan from Liverpool, inspired the Seagulls to their first league win under Sami Hyypiä '“ much to the relief of the Albion faithful.

The lively attacking midfielder scored the Seagulls' first league goal of the season after just five minutes at Elland Road and produced the sort of performance that will have flair-hungry Albion fans salivating like Pavlovian dogs every time he picks up possession in attacking areas.

And he was far from alone in impressing the 444 travelling Albion fans during what was an encouraging triumph.

Danny Holla, another new arrival at the Amex, was in dominant form in the middle of the park and his strong work on and off the ball allowed Jake Forster-Caskey and Kemy Agustien enough freedom to produce the sort of performances which suggest that both are capable of becoming creative forces at this level.

Both Teixeira and Holla should start for the Albion tomorrow (Saturday) against a Bolton team stuck in a wretched run of form.

Andrew Crofts is available for selection following the three-game ban he suffered after his opening-day red card against Sheffield Wednesday and the combative midfielder could return in place of either Agustien or right-back-turned-midfielder Bruno.

New signing Joe Bennett, who joined this week on a season-long loan from Aston Villa, is expected to slot straight in at left-back despite Adam Chicksen producing his best performance in an Albion shirt in the win at Elland Road.

Lewis Dunk impressed alongside Gordon Greer at centre half and should keep his place, with Aaron Hughes having to make do with a place on the bench.

Craig Mackail-Smith is likely to retain his starting role ahead of Chris O'Grady but Kazenga Lua Lua, who scored off the bench midweek, could force his way into the team.

Bolton currently sit a lowly 22nd in the fledgling Championship table having managed just one point from their opening three fixtures. They have leaked seven goals - the second highest total in the division so far '“ and pressure is already mounting on manager Dougie Freedman.

The former Crystal Palace striker has previously reveled in his role as pantomime villain during matches with the Albion, but is unlikely to enjoy his visit to the Amex this time round unless he side can secure maximum points.
