Seagulls supporters believe Brighton can upset Manchester City in FA Cup semi-final

The fanzone, near Wembley Stadium, held 1,000 Seagulls supporters before their first appearance at the national stadium since 1983.

Ahead of Albion's historic tie, the majority of supporter believed that Chris Hughton's side could halt City's quadruple bid and cause a monumental upset.

Paul from Battle said: "I reckon we're going to beat them 2-0, Glenn Murray getting both.

Ethan, also from Battle, added: "I think it's going to be 2-1 Brighton. I think Florin Andone will get one and Anthony Knockaert will get the other."

Matt, from Canterbury, backed the Seagulls to advance to the final but felt that Albion would have to put in a world-class performance.

He said: "Going with the heart, I'm going 2-1 Albion, Glenn Murray and Shane Duffy from a corner I reckon.

"But if you're going with your brain, you'd have to say that we're going to have to be at the top of our game and City are going to have an off-day.

"They're just such a fantastic team. But anything can happen in cup competitions.

"Stranger things have happened so we'll see. We're just excited to be up here for the day.

David, from Hove, felt that Brighton could take inspiration from a German second-tier teams' performance after they ran heavyweights Bayern Munich close.

He added: "Last week Bayern Munich scraped through in the German Cup against a lower-league side so it can happen.

"They won 5-4 against Heidenheim but this proves that teams can make life difficult for the bigger sides.

"I think we'll nick. Glenn Murray or Jurgen Locadia will get the goal."
