Stags party shows no sign of ending

Midhurst, perhaps underestimating their opponents, who are without a point this season, were lacklustre in the first half.

Despite having the majority of possesion and taking the lead through a well-worked MoM Scott Towers goal, lapses in concentration and a sub-standard work rate saw the Stags go in 2-1 down.

But the second half saw the Stags react well and up the tempo. The change in pace was too much for Seaford and goals from Lewis Hamilton (2) and Miles Hamilton saw them move into a comfortable 4-2 lead.

Further chances came and went for the Stags while Seaford didn’t cause any real threat to Dan Roberts’ goal.

Midhurst manager Gary Norgate said: “The lads were coasting in the first half and rightly ended up going in a goal down at half-time.

“At half-time we asked for a reaction and to give the lads credit, that’s exactly what they gave us. The second half was decent and I was particularly pleased for Lewis getting two goals on his return and the midfield trio of Gluey, Matty and Scott ,who are forming a really effective partnership.

“This week is going to be a tough test for us against Wick and Barnham, but with our exceptional form and the quality of current playing squad, we face them with no fear.”
