“They are a decent side now, so we knew we had to play to our best to get a result out of the game. Though not really playing at our best, it was a good organised performance.”

After a low-kay start, Storrington turned up the pressure on the Saltdean defence, as Conway went close twice before Robertson was fed by Rhodie and curled a delicious finish home from 25 yards.

Two superb saves from Jason Downer ensured Storrington preserved their lead going into the break. Braced for a second half onslaught from a side desperate for their first win of the season, the Swans played on the break int he second half.

Downer was called into action again with two fine stops, but when Rhodie broke down the left and found Robertshaw, his back-heel was collected by Conway who made no mistake from just outside the box. Another save from man of the match Downer preserved the clean sheet as the Swans went 12th.
