Strikes in each half from Christopher Cummings-Bart and Ethan Strevett ensured Eastbourne Town ran out 2-0 victors on the day.

Stuart felt it was a much-improved performance from their defeat at Eastbourne United last time out in the league and said: “We didn’t play badly, they just scored two great goals and that was the difference.

“We had a goal disallowed and an effort come back off the bar and I think that’s just how it’s going for us at the minute.

“Last season we had spells when we struggled but then we went on really good runs.

“I’m sure once we pick up that one positive result, others will soon follow as well.”

Cummings-Bart thundered a strike past Jame Fernandes from 25 yards to give Town the lead on 30 minutes.

Mullets worked hard to get back in it for the remainder of the half but both Barney Boutwood and Harry Russell failed to finish decent openings.

Midfielder Alex Biggs so nearly got Arundel level but his crisp drive came back out of the crossbar.

Town doubled their lead in wonderful fashion 12 minutes from time. Mullets failed to fully clear a corner and Strevett crashed home a 35-yard volley.

Russell then had an effort ruled out six minutes from time when he was adjudged to have fouled an opposition defender in the build-up.
