ARUNDEL Football Club suffered penalty heartbreak last night when they lost 4-3 on spot-kicks to Eastbourne Town in the semi-finals of the Sussex RUR Cup.

The game had finished 1-1 after extra-time.

Jack Turner gave Eastbourne the lead on five minutes when Mullets keeper Tom Boyle could only parry a Danny Ellis header into his path.

Arundel were level just a minute later when Scott Tipper was sent clean through and coolly slotted past Greg Nessling.

Boyle then saved a penalty on 22 minutes, before both sides went close to grabbing the win late in normal time.

Tipper went closest to a winner in extra-time, before Eastbourne progressed on spot-kicks and will meet Loxwood in the final.
