Haywards Heath Seniors retain the Quadrangular

The 40th Quadrangular Tournament, also known as the Leslie Southon Bowl, was played at Haywards Heath Golf Club on Monday the 8th September with participation by Seniors from four of the primer golf clubs in Sussex namely Piltdown, Crowborough, Seaford and Haywards Heath golf clubs.

The format is traditionally Foursomes match play with winners of the morning’s matches going to the final of the Leslie Southon Bowl and the losers play for the Fred Edwardson Tankard.

Haywards Heath Seniors put in a strong performance in the morning matches winning 3 – 0 against Piltdown and continued their winning ways by beating Seaford 3 – 0 in the afternoon matches, thereby retaining the Quadrangular Trophy won last year at Seaford Golf Club.

Crowborough Beacon won the Fred Edwardson Tankard final against Piltdown.

The trophies were presented by Brian Hay, HHGC President.
