Hillside gets off to new season

HILLSIDE Farm, Coolham, has got off to a great start with its new series of fun jumping shows.

All six classes plus three clear round events at varying heights were very well supported.

These shows are aimed at novice ponies and horses and/or novice riders. No combinations of BSJA registered pony or horse plus a registered rider are permitted.

As a result, Mantha Hills, daughter of organiser Debbie, is not allowed to ride any of her own registered owners bu was allowed to compete on four other ponies brought along by four other owners.

No rider is eliminated at any time and those who got into the jump off in any of the classes was given a rosette.

The aim of the shows is to introduce riders plus ponies and horses to show jumping and for riders and spectators to have fun.

Assistance is allowed in all classes and spectators are encouraged to cheer and applaud.
