IT'S A LAST-MATCH BATTLE TO SURVIVE

LITTLEHAMPTON Cricket Club have to avoid defeat at Hastings on Saturday to ensure survival in the Sussex League Premier Division. Hastings, who are second bottom, are 14 points adrift of Littlehampton, who were all out for just 35 at Three Bridges on Saturday.

Littlehampton's score of just 35 equalled the lowest ever score in the Sussex League Premier Division on Saturday. After Littlehampton captain Stuart Stoneham won the toss and elected to bat, nothing went right for his side.

Had Littlehampton won on Saturday, they would be safe. But they now have to travel to second-bottom Hastings on Saturday needing to avoid defeat to stay up. Six-time league champions, Hastings lost at relegated Steyning on Saturday which means they have to beat Littlehampton.
