Murray praises Brighton after pulling through 'difficult’ second season
Albion’s top scorer claimed that weaker teams would have folded after the poor form towards the end of the season left Albion hanging to their Premier League status by two points.
Murray opened the scoring in Brighton’s final match of the season against Manchester City, but the joy lasted all of 83 seconds before Sergio Aguero’s equaliser sparked City to life as they stormed to a 4-1 victory to retain the Premier League title.

Hide AdSpeaking on the season as a whole, Murray said: “It was a difficult second season but we came through it.
"I think weaker teams would have folded with the second half of the season form but we pulled through and got back to what we’re good at towards the end of the season, keeping clean sheets and things.
“Thankfully those draws just got us over the line and now we’ve got to focus on the summer and I’m sure the hierarchy of the club will be looking at players and trying to make our squad stronger ready to go again next season.”
The 35-year-old admitted that despite it being nice to finish the season, there is a sad aspect to the conclusion of another campaign.

Hide AdHe said: “Even though it’s nice to finish, obviously I'm physically and mentally tired, there’s a little bit of a sad element to it that it’s another one ticked off and they’re not going to keep coming around.
“Seeing Bruno today first hand, it evoked emotions a little bit, but I’ll be ready to go next season.”
On Bruno, Murray added: “It was just a pleasure to play on the same team as him and be led by him. He’s someone that’s led by example and to bow out at the top at his age just shows what type of person he is, just a fantastic player.”
