Natural horsemanship demo from Dan Corbin

DAN Corbin, renowned for his natural horsemanship approach, is to hold three clinics at Goring Riding Club on November 13 and 14, and followed by a third on November 21.

His youth was spent working before and after school at two yards, one being a typical BHS Somerset riding school, the other a competition, stud and livery.

He spent half his time working with ‘problem’ horses and backing the youngsters, and the other half training and competing with numerous horses, including dressage, three-day-eventing, Show Jumping and Carriage Driving Trials.

He was lucky enough to have the opportunity to study horses in large wild herds in America for a more than six months and has worked with many traditional and natural trainers including

Monty Roberts, Mary Wanless and Parelli to name a few.

He will be working with horses at the sessions, giving a valuable insight in how to deal with problems. The final day will specifically show how to deal with a horse that will not load.

The cost is £20 for spectators with or without a horse, £25 non members. Anyone wanting to bring a ‘problem’ horse along let me or Janet know so that Dan can send you a questionaire about your problems.

These will be open sessions so if you have any questions take them along with you.
