With close to 40 novice events taking place all across England, 1,000 new triathletes are set to be inspired to take up the multi-sport challenge.

The GO TRI 1000 takes place this Sunday, with Bognor Triathlon & Endurance Sports Club hosting the event. Entrants can secure last-minute places for the event by visiting the website www.gotri.org

The GO TRI 1000 events are manageable distances, starting with a 100m swim, 2.5k bike race and 1k run. The weekend is also a chance for participants to be introduced to duathlons (run and bike) and aquathlons (swim and run).

As an added incentive and to help the participants begin their new multi-sport journey, there will be a £1,000 prize fund up for grabs, with four lucky winners receiving a £250 voucher to spend on triathlon kit and equipment. Register for a GO TRI 1000 event and you’ll be automatically eligible to win a share of the fund.

Rob Bishop, Triathlon England’s GO TRI events manager said: “The support for our GO TRI 1000 weekend from the public and event organisers has been fantastic and we are looking forward to a great weekend in Bognor.

“The event will see a huge influx of people entering our sport at the same time, so it’s not too late for wannabe triathletes to be part of this exciting weekend for triathlon. Who knows, we could find the next Olympic champion in Bognor.”
