Kavanagh also took charge of the first game between the sides this season when Spurs won 2-1 at the Amex in September. The Manchester-based official has taken charge of three other Brighton Premier League matches, the draws with Leicester (1-1) and West Ham (2-2) and the 1-0 defeat to Liverpool.

He also officiated Albion's penalty shoot-out victory at Millwall in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

The assistant referees on Tuesday will be Daniel Cook and Gary Beswick, with Anthony Taylor the fourth official.

The game will be Tottenham's fourth in their new stadium and kicks off at 7.45pm.
