Saxons match frozen off

South Saxons’ match away to East Grinstead IV on Saturday was postponed because of a frozen pitch.

It was one of three games in South Hockey League Sussex Area - Division One to fall victim to the big freeze and it meant that Saxons dropped a place to third.

Lewes III went above them on the back of a 5-1 win at home to Crowborough in a match umpired by long-serving Saxons player and officer Jeremy Bunday.
