Survival is still in our own hands - Hughton

Chris Hughton says Premier League survival is still in Brighton & Hove Albion's hands and does not believe it's just between the Seagulls and Cardiff for the final relegation place.

Huddersfield and Fulham have already been relegated and third-from-bottom Cardiff are two points behind Brighton and five adrift of Southampton.

The Seagulls travel to Wolves this afternoon while Southampton are at Newcastle and Cardiff then entertain Liverpool tomorrow.

Despite four successive Premier League defeats, Hughton stressed Albion still control their own destiny and said: "It's still very much in our own hands.

"I don't think it's fair just to talk about Cardiff because there are other teams still not mathematically safe at this time.

"If we are able to get the points we think we might need it doesn't matter about other results.

"Southampton are three points above us. It's normal momentum because things haven't gone so well for us people start talking about us where perhaps a while ago they weren't.

"People were very much talking about Burnley and Southampton but because they've had important wins now they're not. It's normal stuff."
