SATURDAY'S defeat at Lewes has ended Littlehampton Cricket Club's bid for promotion back into the Sussex League Premier Division.
Littlehampton are now 42 points behind second-placed Haywards Heath with just two games left.
Captain Benn Challen has been left disappointed by the season. He said: "It seems to be only two, three or four people who really care and the others will turn up and if they score runs, they score runs and if they don't, they don't. Too many people don't seem to have the right attitude.
"It was always going to be difficult to go up but I felt if we got 90 points from our last three games, we might have had a chance."
