Weather brings sport to standstill

Outdoor sport in 1066 Country came to a standstill at the weekend because of the ongoing wintry weather.

All six of the area’s senior football teams had their matches postponed due to the freezing conditions, including Hastings United’s scheduled visit from Tooting & Mitcham United.

The entire ADA East Sussex Football League programme was wiped out and it was the same story in the PCM Hastings & East Sussex Sunday Football League.

South Saxons’ top-of-the-table clash away to Horsham II in South Hockey League Sussex Area - Division One was another casualty, although two matches elsewhere in the division did go ahead.
