Portslade will be Singing for Pleasure

Singing for Pleasure offers a Christmas Concert on Saturday, December 17 at 2.45pm at Portslade Town Hall.

Singing for Pleasure has been running successfully in Brighton, Hove and Southwick for five years under the direction of musical director, Simon Gray, who has been involved in the musical theatre scene as well as many other musical assignments, concerts, opera and top shows for more than 30 years. Robert Blass created the idea for Singing for Pleasure and assisted by his wife Corinne they handle all the marketing and promotion along with the day-to-day running of the group.

Simon said: “Members of Singing for Pleasure come from all walks of life but their shared enthusiasm for singing brings them together every week for an hour of songs from shows and other popular songs and light classics. In the group there are singers living with cancer, Lupus, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s, all of whom find great comfort, relief and inspiration from singing in a friendly environment on a weekly basis. Indeed, several of them have even reported a distinct improvement in their conditions which they attribute to regular singing.
