Hide AdSpeaking before the event organiser and one of the artists Sue Hofman said: “All around our beautiful area extending from the city out to Compton, Charlton, Eartham, Slindon, Lavant, West Dean, Yapton, Ford, Middleton-on-Sea, Hunston, Bracklesham, The Witterings, Birdham, Bosham, Southbourne and places in between, you have the opportunity to see artists displaying and creating their work.
“There will be painters, printmakers, potters, weavers, photographers, jewellers, sculptors, textile artists, stained-glass workers, all showing their work, and available to answer any questions you may have about their techniques, their inspiration and processes.
“This is always a hugely enjoyable event for both artists and visitors”, says Sue who stresses that it is not at all about selling. Much more important is simply welcoming and chatting.
“It’s not a pressured environment. It is all very inviting for people.”
Sue said she was delighted to welcome 43 new artists to the trail this year, all part of the trail’s constant renewal when artists move away or decide to miss a year.
