New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of Lewes’s restaurants, cafes or canteens, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

Grubs Up, at Legion House, 70 Claremont Road, Seaford was handed a four-out-of-five rating after assessment on May 10.

And Halfway Hut, at Mid Sussex Golf Club, Spatham Lane, Westmeston was given a score of three on May 10.

It means that of Lewes's 346 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 285 (82%) have ratings of five and just one has a zero rating.
