BREAKING: Fire at Brighton hotel

Emergency services are at the scene of a fire at a Brighton hotel this evening (Sunday).

Police, paramedics and firefighters are at the scene of the Royal Albion Hotel in Old Steine.

Police have erected a cordon around building, which appears to have been evacuated.

An East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "We were called at 7.12pm on June 4 2017 to reports of a fire on the 5th floor of a hotel on Old Steine.

"As of 7.40pm, eight fires engines have been sent to the incident. People are being asked to avoid the area while the fire is being dealt with."
