Police investigate '˜nasty unprovoked attack' in Brighton

A man was hospitalised with fractures to his nose, cheekbones and jaw after an assault on St Patrick's Day, police have said.

The 27-year-old victim also lost one of his front teeth in the attack on Boyces Street, according to investigators.

Police said the man was ‘punched to the ground and repeatedly stamped on by a man unknown to him’ at about 11.30pm on Friday, March 17.

Sussex Police has issued a grainy CCTV image of a man officers wish to speak to in connection with the assault.

Detective Constable David Rose said: “This was a nasty unprovoked attack, which left the victim in a lot of pain. We want to hear from anyone who witnessed the assault or can identify the man in the CCTV image.”
