Lucinda Mitchell, project director at First Base, said: “I look forward to welcoming local residents, businesses and elected representatives to discuss their ideas for the Edward Street site.

“As we work to bring forward plans for its redevelopment, we want to meet with as many local people as possible to get a clear understanding of their ambitions for the site so we can align our plans with their visions.”

When First Base announced it had acquired the site in August, it revealed a vision for a 'vibrant new mixed-use development which will help to revive this area of Brighton'.

American Express has been operating from its new Brighton headquarters at 1 John Street since 2013
